On Blackboard. Sobre una gran pizarra negra; se propone la tarea de escribir y dibujar. La etimología griega lo expresa bien, graphein – son una sola y misma cosa. El dibujo tiene una magia añadida: conserva la memoria no de las palabras sino del rumor anterior a las palabras y lleva en sí la huella de nuestro cuerpo. Pero uno y otro, escribir/ dibujar, coinciden en la distancia y en la obsesión, buscan ambos fijar el rastro de las cosas, llámese nombre o huella. Sin embargo, el deseo del cuadro se ve acompañado de la conciencia de su imposibilidad. Y si se niega la correspondencia entre el sistema del mundo y del lenguaje, las palabras quedan suspendidas, ligadas apenas al azar que las hace girar sobre sí mismas. Nuestro ojo debe seguir su trayecto para comprender el conjunto. Sentimos que las palabras insertas en el cuadro no son posibles sin una moral del lenguaje.

On Blackboard. On a large blackboard; the idea is to write and draw. Greek ethymology expresses it well, graphein – they are one and the same thing. Drawings have extra magic: they maintain the memory not of the words but of the murmur which precedes words and carries within it the trace of our body. But both of them, writing/drawing, coincide in distance and in obsession, both attempt to set the path of things, whether it be called a name or a trace. Nevertheless, the desire of the picture is accompanied by the conciousness of its impossibility. It denies the connection between the world´s system and language, words hang in the air, just linked to fate which makes them spin on their own axis. Our eyes must follow their path in order to understand the whole thing. We feel that the words set into the picture are not possible without morals of language.
